    Just to warn people that uses Invision Power Suite, 10.1.15 have a bug that gives problems to the Stream Queries.
    I have opened a bug report in MariaDB Jira: [MDEV-10325] Queries examines all rows of a tables when it should not - JIRA

    What error and how do you reproduce it? I'm running 10.1.15 MariaDB and latest 4.1.12.3 IPS, and have not had any errors yet, at least that I can see. :)

    Check the bug i reported to MariaDB and the one i reported to Invision here: https://invisionpower.com/4bugtrack...for-regular-members-examines-all-rows-r11858/

    It only happens to the regular members, because the query has an extra condition to not show hidden posts. For some reason on 10.1.15 version, it simple f*cks up the query. Admins won't notice. I only noticed the next day when my members start saying the site was slower.

    You will also only notice if you have many posts. I have 1.6 Million, so its normal the query will take much time.

    I sure hope IPS fixes that, if it ends up being their issue and not MDBs issue.

    I think also is IPB issue and not MariaDB issue....

    I believe its a MariaDB issue. The query worked fine for every version till now, and only in .15 is giving this bug.

    If it's not one thing, it's another with IPB. I sure wish they address the PHP7 issue... like yesterday. If it's MDB, hopefully we won't have to wait months for a fix.

    Matt from Invision have responded to my bug report:
    So he will monitor the bug report i created in MariaDB. If they do nothing about it in the next weeks, he will try to fix it in Invision side.

    Another update. MariaDB changed the bug report to "Sprint 10.1.16". It think that means they will fix it.

    I've been through this with MariaDB for almost 2 years now and their crappy buggy releases, would love to see Percona as an option in Centmin Mod!

    maybe one day, but MariaDB is here to stay for now at least :)

    MySQL, MariaDB or Percona upgrading should only be done after investigating critical bugs in their respective issue trackers usually. It's why I wait a while before updating usually.

    If you need to downgrade MariaDB 10.1.x branch to a specific MariaDB 10.1.x version like downgrading from MariaDB 10.1.15 to 10.1.14, you can follow these steps outlined on official site at https://centminmod.com/mysql.html#downgrade - pay attention to reverting the downgrade steps by restoring the backed up mariadb.repo file and doing a yum clean metadata + yum upgrade once MariaDB 10.1.16 is released. An illustrated example below.

    Downgrading MariaDB 10.1 To Specific MariaDB 10.1 Version

    • Important do a mysqldump backup to sql file for all your server's MySQL databases before trying this just to be safe !
    • And only downgrade within the same branch so within MariaDB 10.1.x to a specifc MariaDB 10.1.x version. DO NOT downgrade major branches like 10.1 to 10.0.
    Backup and edit MariaDB 10.1.x YUM repo file at /etc/yum.repos.d/mariadb.repo
    Code (Text):
    cp -a /etc/yum.repos.d/mariadb.repo /etc/yum.repos.d/mariadb.repo-origbak

    Below is an example on CentOS 7 64bit (denoted amd64 vs 32bit = x86) - so note the centos7 name. If on CentOS 6, you'd need to make sure references change from centos7 to centos6 for below edits and change 32bit OS to x86 from amd64 references.

    Then edit /etc/yum.repos.d/mariadb.repo

    from
    Code (Text):
    [mariadb]
    name = MariaDB
    baseurl = http://yum.mariadb.org/10.0/centos7-amd64
    gpgkey=https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
    gpgcheck=1
    exclude=MariaDB-Galera-server

    to - adding a name field for the specific MariaDB version i.e. 10.1.14 and edit baseurl to point to actual 10.1.14 version files
    Code (Text):
    [mariadb]
    name = MariaDB-10.1.14
    baseurl = https://downloads.mariadb.com/files/MariaDB/mariadb-10.1.14/yum/centos7-amd64/
    gpgkey=https://yum.mariadb.org/RPM-GPG-KEY-MariaDB
    gpgcheck=1
    exclude=MariaDB-Galera-server

    Then clean metadata and do a yum downgrade
    Code (Text):
    yum clean metadata
    yum downgrade MariaDB-client MariaDB-common MariaDB-compat MariaDB-devel MariaDB-server MariaDB-shared

    Example is downgrade from 10.1.14 to 10.1.13. Couldn't try with 10.1.15 to 10.1.14 as MariaDB has pulled the 10.1.15 release due to critical bugs discussed at MariaDB - MariaDB 10.1.15 now available | Centmin Mod Community
    Code (Text):
    yum downgrade MariaDB-client MariaDB-common MariaDB-compat MariaDB-devel MariaDB-server MariaDB-shared
