Dediserve too slow particularly for network speeds 250Mbps-500Mbps capped Benchmarks - DigitalOcean vs Linode vs Vultr vs Dediserve - London vs Singapore VPS benchmarks | Centmin Mod Community but i still have a Dediserve Sydney VPS due to large bandwidth quota and Dediserve folks support/billing wise has been one of the most accommodating I've experienced.

Dediserve default to 250Mbps cap but I asked them if they'd raise me to 500Mbps cap, they said fine as long as averages are <250Mbps. My Dediserve LA node at $199/month for 32 cpus for test usage isn't being used right now for the specific testing I have planned for it, so I was going to cancel as I don't have time to do those tests for next 3 months. They said they'd comp me for that 3 months for free ! But if your site requirements are <250-500Mbps then should be good with Dediserve but Sydney is still slow - you can see network tests at Centminmod.com Geo Location VPS Cluster Page Speed Analysis | Centmin Mod Community

Dediserve Sydney vs Cloudshard Sydney both are in same Sydney datacenter FYI

Is everything back to normal at Linode as far as the DDOS is concerned?

I'm still holding out for the full post mortem. I've had quite a few customers ask for alternative providers, but apart from this issue, they have been faultless. While I moved my own Linode away, another factor was the USD to GBP conversion, and the lack of PayPal payment option, as my card gets charged a non-GBP transaction fee.

Yeah still waiting on the full report from Linode. Though I rather they have the mitigation measures in place or are working on deploying such as opposed to time just outlining the report of what they're going to do heh.

Like I said earlier, I think Linode is better off now after experiencing those unfortunate attacks. They fully acknowledged their faults and seem to be enhancing their network which will ultimately provide Linode users with a better service going forward.

    :)

Agreed... maybe further down the track they can extend that DDOS mitigation protection for Linode VPS servers themselves too :)

I think it might be only a matter of time. Vultr has already implemented a BETA DDoS protection add-on with their service. Hope that it is something that the likes of DigitalOcean and Linode see and implement in the future. It doesn't seem outside the realm of possibility as many companies compete to offer similar services as their competitors. Maybe it will be one the others take up.

    :D

Indeed for most large web hosting or cloud providers, DDOS protection is just a matter of when not if :)

I'm not surprised they ran into the limits of facility transit, and needed todo their own transit like that.

maybe, if they do announce such, then just time to re-evaluate all options :D
