For Linode users like myself who are suffering from Linode's datacenter DDOS attackers, have you thought about any alternative web hosting solutions as back up plans ? I use Linode Fremont, CA for this forum and my dedicated piwik analytics server and use Singapore Linode for my centminmod.com Singapore segment in my geo latency cluster and love Linode and right now will wait to see how Linode reacts in terms of plans for future implementations to prevent such attacks i.e. announce DDOS protection plans. But if Linode does still suffer, then us Linode folks need alternative hosting options. So have you folks on Linode started thinking about contingency plans and alternative web hosts if you can no longer wait out Linode's unfortunate DDOS attacks ? @Matt has started moving to OVH Public cloud and I have started playing with it too. @Xon @RoldanLT @dorobo ? I think @deltahf is on Linode ? And @Matt Williams @redbird @trxerz are or have moved to Linode ? I currently use 16+ different managed and unmanaged web hosts with VPS/cloud and dedicated offerings. Some of the unmanaged offerings include DigitalOcean, RamNode, Backupsy.com, Vultr.com and SoYouStart/OVH and for my geo latency cluster cloudshards, dediserve, wable, theskyspace, securedragon, ransomit, and buyvm.net. I also in past use Amazon EC2, Rackspace Cloud, PhoenixNap Secured Cloud, and Iwstack. I am also evaluating a few other cloud providers as part of my normal paid server optimisation consultancy services I do for my clients.
