    Linode user reported new Linode VPSes are sporting Intel Broadwell-EP based Xeon E5-2697v4 @2.3Ghz Linode Forum :: Broadwell-EP hosts, any specs? !

    hmm nice to see Xeon E5-2600v4s but clock speed is going down from E5-2680v2 @2.80Ghz vs E5-2680v3 @2.50Ghz vs E5-2697v4 @2.30Ghz for base non-turbo speeds. But turbo speeds are up so with 18 cpu core/36 cpu threads the turbo speeds probably higher than previous processors !

    So anyone managed to these new E5-2697v4 cpus at Linode yet ? All I seem to get are the E5-2680v2 and E5-2680v3 heh

    Nope same here at London and Frankfurt. Seems to be an upgrade on specific locations only. Probably server expansion with brand new server and specific brand new server hardware.

    Got a few new London and Frankfurt (for now still EU) servers and none of them with version 4 CPU.

    Finally landed on one on a paying consult client's server in Linode Dallas datacenter on their Linode 64G plan with 16x cpu cores on Intel Xeon E5-2697v4 at 2.30Ghz with 64GB memory, 1152GB SSD storage and 20TB bandwidth. Running cpanel/WHM for the client + litespeed web server for their Xenforo forums.

    It looks like they are mostly E5-2697v4's in the Dallas2 zone. I've gotten some support tickets that state all VMs in the Dallas zone will be migrated to a new Dallas2 zone in the coming months.

    It is a 0.5ms hop from Dallas1 -> Dallas2, but they've stretched private networking across the two zones for the migration.

    yup I've hit E5-2697v4 in Linode Dallas too :)

    Didn't know they're migrating all VMs to the new zone though.
