I've experienced with Godaddy ? Could anyone suggest me other than godaddy ?
If you have a bunch of domains with NC, if you write them (ticket) they will move you to a higher tier and you get a discount on all your purchases (mainly domains). My .com domains are like $9 and change each.
yes namecheap has bulk domain discounts but still namesilo and internet.bs ended up cheaper if you had whois privacy - though not sure how GDPR is going to afffect that? Key to cheaper domain name costs is paying for multiple years in advance - especially if you're using a foreign currency charging domain registrar as you can time the multi year domain name purchase/renewal with when you local currency is relatively strongest against the foreign currency. Example for me being in Australia means most of above domain registrars charge in US dollars. My last multi year big renewal was back when Australian dollar reach parity with US dollar IIRC it was something like AUD$1.05 = US$1.00 and I renewed my important domains for 10 yrs. If you calculate the savings, that can be huge in terms of local currency. I forget the actual price but using theoretical numbers: If price of a domain is US$8/yr when currency was at parity - then cost me to would be 8/1.05 = $7.62. 10yr renewal = 7.619x10 = AUD$76.19 for 10 yrs. Now current pricing maybe at US$9/yr but exchange rate is AUD$0.74 = US$1.00 so domain renewal costs 9/0.74 = AUD$12.16 and be sure over next 10yrs that US$9/yr price will incrementally increase so best I could hope for over 10yrs of yearly renewals is at least 12.16x10 = AUD$121.60 which is 121.60-76.19 = AUD$45.41 more expensive at least over 10yrs. For one domain the savings don't seem like much but if you had 100 domains that's a savings of 45x100 = AUD$4,500 minimum over next 10 yrs !
How so? If bulk of his money is in AUD, he still has to change it for non AUD purchases. The only thing he saves on are exchange fees. But it comes at the cost. Exchange rate always fluctulates and in day o 3 can be better than it was, when he changed money. This leads to frustration, feeling of "shit I should have waited few more days". Anyway, there is also transferwise.com for transfering and exchanging money. Other option is keeping money in it's original currency (Premium forum fees) and thus hedging against FX fluctulations. say one has $1000 and 1000AUD, if USD goes up agains AUD, sum total remains stable. 1000AUD is worth less, but $1000 is worth more
I used NameCheap for years (maybe 10?) until I found NameSilo through this forum. Although their site is not as flashy, their control panel works better, I like their domain name organization options better, and with free WHOIS privacy, it's cheaper than NameCheap. They also have very good account security, with 2FA and access notifications. I highly recommend them.
Ah yeah, looks like it is free now. They were probably losing too much business charging for it (they lost mine!). I'm still glad I switched over to NameSilo, though.
I recently moved all my domains from godaddy to Google, godaddy is charging too much for little services that they provide. Not to mention the slow back-end.
Ah, I actually forgot that Google offered their own registrar services! I've never heard anyone say they use them before.
