Do I need to do the following according to "Setup The Default Server Main Hostname Nginx Vhost."?

    1. Change the hostname of the server:

Add web.myname.com, save and close file

    2. Edit /etc/hosts

    3. Edit vhostconf

Do I really have to do that? what's the point? Can I skip it?

    Thanks.

I made the mistake of not doing it and had to come back later to fix my error. I would highly recommend changing the hostname early.

It's really about the emails sent being marked as spammed like eva2000 said? Or that caused you some other problems? Thanks.

All of my issues were related to receiving emails from the server. I wasn't receiving any emails as the DMARC records couldn't be sent and all server outgoing emails were being quarantined.

Yup what @David Schargel said. It's about reliably being able to receive emails you sent from your server's Postfix MTA mail server i.e. if you set cronjob email notifications, update notifications or even Centmin Mod's disk space alert https://community.centminmod.com/th...lert-daily-cronjob-email-notifications.14066/ or Centmin Mod style SSH login alerts https://community.centminmod.com/threads/ssh-login-email-alerts-centmin-mod-style.9498/. All these emails need to be able to reach your inbox for the email you specify to send to/receive alerts at.
