To your credit, Cent Mod installs faster than cPanel. :) Of course the install went by so quick that I couldn't read anything. lol

Did manage to screen capture 1 warning though (see screenshot). I assume it is harmless. Would like to know if there is a complete log of the install though.

Well this can't be good. PHP didn't install correctly.

    Still going through the process....

The "Post-Install Checklist" is a nice touch (see screenshot). :)

Though I'd like to have a log to review. I "think" (not with 100% certainty), that only PHP was an issue.

Well upgrading to beta9 didn't help either. Something is keeping php from installing.

edit: Should add I tried to reinstall using 8 stable, but that failed, so I figured we'd try beta 9 as a last step.

    In either case, no good.

More info would be nice though
    • Server or VPS details ? XEN, KVM, OpenVZ, VMWare or dedicated server ? OS ? CentOS 6.7 or 7.1 ? 32bit or 64bit ?
    • What version of Centmin Mod ? .07 stable or .08 beta03 or .08 stable or .09 beta01 ?
    • Was it fresh install or upgrade ?
    • How long ago did you install Centmin Mod ?
    • There's numerous code changes, bug fixes over time, so ensure you have latest Centmin Mod code installed by upgrading your Centmin Mod code as instructed below.

    Troubleshooting Initial Install

To troubleshoot initial installation, you need to check the initial install log at /root/centminlogs. You can see full details at How to troubleshoot Centmin Mod initial install issues

The general question was if there was a log generated by Centmin Mod? I kind of wanted to seek what went wrong so I could provide more info. Without it, I feel screenshots was all I could do.

So is there such a log generated?
    1. VPS
    2. CentOS 7.1
    3. 64bit
Whatever Digital Ocean and Vultr. I assume KVM or OpenVZ.

8 stable and then later 9 beta
Fresh minimal install, but upgraded... ie... Yum clean all, followed by Yum update
    Today at 2 pm (Nov. 4, 2016)

I used the Github method to ensure I had the latest copy ;)

The more I know.... Thanks :)

Yeah web host used is important as it sometimes comes down to their provided CentOS image being the problem as they had multilibs i686 and x86_64 packages installed at same time which you should have. Ramnode had the problem at Install - Problem with installation of .08 | Centmin Mod Community but was fixed when i asked them to fix the base CentOS image they provided.

next time, on DO which uses KVM, launch a fresh centos 7.1 64bit vps and before installing Centmin Mod run

    Code:
    yum -y remove \*.i686
what output do you get - if a bunch of yum packages get removed, then you had i686 32bit packages installed on the base provided image

Is it fine to do this on live server? I assume not :D.

it's fine if your OS is 64bit as the command only removes unwanted 32bit packages from yum

of course DO NOT do this on 32bit OS systems !

This is where things 1st go wrong. From this point on, everything that is dependent on php runs into issues (mostly that things are not found).

This time BOTH Nginx and PHP failed to install. This was using beta9 so I'll give the stable a try again.

Attached at the logs as I figure they'll be helpful in making the beta more stable :)

I attached the whole log directory above (see zip file). There was 13 log files so I figured it easier to just zip them all.

for PHP at least seems php 5.5.30 tarball gzipped file never downloaded or link was broken

    Code:
./centmin.sh: line 1075: cd: php-5.5.30: No such file or directory
./centmin.sh: line 1077: ./buildconf: No such file or directory
try running centmin.sh menu option 5 and specifying php version = 5.5.30 and see what happens

same with nginx 1.9.6 tarball gzipped file missing
    Code:
    Compiling nginx...
inc/nginx_install.inc: line 271: cd: nginx-1.9.6: No such file or directory
    also libressl download missing
    Code:
    [1;32;40mInstalling nginx Modules / Prerequisites...
    (B[mCompiling LibreSSL...
inc/openssl_install.inc: line 45: cd: libressl-2.2.4: No such file or directory
bash: autogen.sh: No such file or directory
so sounds like your vps failed to download source files for compilation - could be flaky net connectivity to your vps

try running centmin.sh menu option 4 and specifing nginx version = 1.9.6 and see what happens

So it is possible to continue even if Centmin Mod fails to install? I didn't know that. I've been formatting fresh each time (having that cPanel mentality). lol

no no it's best to fresh reload OS, just doing individual menu options 4 and 5 will create new /root/centminlogs for nginx and php upgrades so you can individually troubleshoot them :)
