Since Google new "Fred" algorithm, i've seen many people that noticed a big drop in indexes pages and its affecting their site reach.

Invision for example already made a statement where they will make some change to the sitemap generation in order to minimize this situation.

    Anyone here noticed something similar?

    Some examples:

    Those sites are not mine.

In case of Invision users, what happened is that "Fred" algorithm removed indexed pages of some sites and Invision sitemap only sends to Google new content and not old content. So what they are going to do in the next version is add an option to send all content of the site again.

Basically Google was facing issues with Storage Space with the big growing of pages in the Internet and they created this new algorithm that remove pages based on some conditions. I know that one of those conditions are sites that gives more importance to ads instead of content.

So, if Google removed your pages from their index, the only way to put it back is to give Google again the pages to index them.

I thought that issue was related to sitemap link when you change to https you must manually update it and if you don't you will get the above issue...

Setting is at search engine optimization ->sitemap

Google Fred algorithm update that targets black-hat tactics tied to aggressive monetization. Google makes every day to improve their algorithm and the quality of their SERP results.
