    Hi guys I've been proposed to have a cluster of this:

    Welcome to PowerDNS

    The reason why is because I help a project and when I do crawling cpu loads tends to be rather high ( tested every type of cpus : 1650v2, 1620v2, 4790k, L5420*2, i7 3770, 1270v3).

    Does it make sense to get some VM's in the same datacenter as from where I have the crawlers to get some load off them crawlers?

    Appreciate the input. Don't understand your question about loads . We have high cpu loads if we want to crawl hard but that translates into dnss errors..

    We had been using power dns recursor for quite a long time. Not sure about the authoritative stuff.
    Will take a look at the article.

    If i understand, your high cpu loads are causing locally installed dns servers to error out ? If so would be better to off load DNS to 3rd party i.e. cloudflare as DNS only mode. Though doesn't help with the source problem/symptoms = cpu load.

    It's why for Centmin Mod I recommend email and dns be using 3rd party service to offload from the server itself. Less resource usage and more reliability and uptime overall :)
