Did I read elsewhere--maybe github--that you are working on a fastcgi install option from the main menu? In any case, I'm planning to migrate from a lemp stack using easyengine (with pagespeed and fastcgi) to centminmod and am debating whether to set up fastcgi myself (via here), not worry about it, or possibly wait until it becomes a menu option (if it does). Any thoughts on those options?
Indeed I am working on a wordpress + fastcgi cache option Wordpress - Differences between Wordpress regular install vs centmin.sh menu option 22 install (github dev dashboard centminmod/centminmod). Not ready yet, so for now 123.09beta01 and keycdn cache enabler option seems easiest to start with. Best to setup a test VPS and migrate one of your Wordpress sites to it with Centmin Mod 123.09beta01 and just have a feel or what's what. For moving site data there's 2 general guides where the principles & steps of backing up and moving data is the same just slightly different for Moving Centmin Mod site data to another Centmin Mod server Moving cPanel/WHM site data to Centmin Mod server Those guides move alot more than just the site(s) in question but config files etc. You can use your own best judgement as to the config files and whether you want to move them or just use the fresh server setup Centmin Mod config files as they get auto optimised for the server Centmin Mod initially installed on. If your old site isn't centmin mod or cpanel/whm based, then those guides won't be 100% applicable. But the general overview of what needs moving and where everything is structured in Centmin Mod LEMP environment is worth reading up on. Also official site configuration files page explains the Centmin Mod structure of where the important files are so you can decide on what to backup.
Also seems there's a few more Easyengine folks migrating to Centmin Mod these days - probably because not everyone would be in tune with EE v4's usage of docker. I don't think docker is for everyone - especially for folks who are new to general LEMP stack traditional setups/sysadmin tasks. Centmin Mod Docker dev forum exists Centmin Mod Docker Development to probably in future supplement Centmin Mod LEMP stack with docker support/elements but never to replace a traditional LEMP stack right now. So if you take notes during your migration, you could end up with a guide you can share in forum for user tutorials eventually Centmin Mod User Tutorials & Guides
Hey eva, any prediction of when the fastcgi cache option will be available? I'm testing the beta and have not seen any bug, I'm really looking forward to using it, it's much better than php cache plugins. Thank you for all you work!
