Nginx How to redirect www.domain.com to www.domain.com/forums ?

I'm using CENTOS 7 and latest CENTMINMOD now.

Code (Text):

server {
      listen   80;
      server_name myplace.com www.myplace.com;
      return 301 https://$server_name$request_uri;
}

server {
  listen 443 ssl http2 reuseport;
  server_name myplace.com www.myplace.com;
  rewrite ^/$ /forums redirect;

I added the last line...

rewrite ^/$ /forums redirect;

And it works. Is the the best way to do it?
