Sysadmin DevOps bootcamp

Just wanted to share with the community that I was accepted today and enrolled in a 12 week DevOps boot camp. I think my experiences here and with the mod script have definitely played a part in as much as giving me the confidence to attempt something of this nature due to being able to rapidly learn about server deployment and configuration over the past maybe six months. I hope to be able to bring my knowledge back to the table and enhance the community with the skills I will be learning there. It is fun. And a BS in Chemistry isn't much to work with where I live, so I have been learning as much as I can the last two years in hopes of pivoting my career.

 

So they asked me if I wanted to do a free 10 week full stack course before the DevOps course, so I accepted of course. I start tomorrow evening.

 

Thank you! I'm sure it will be a lot of fun. I recently got my vps wiped because my business partner didn't pay and forgot to mention it for awhile so all my sites are down. I have a lot of work ahead of me, but I was wanting to switch over to CentOS 7 anyway.

 

Me too. But... life isn't always that easy. I do have backups, but I want to move to CentOS 7 anyway and I can easily put them back up. It takes me about 12 hours from configuring vhost to completed site these days, so it's all good.
