Performance tuning doesn't really work that way, you can't always make PHP use more memory than the web app/php script requires or asks for to obtainer better performance. And if you could make it use more than required, it doesn't necessarily perform any better. You can read up on and tune Zend Opcache caching/memory allocation to ensure it's optimally caching your PHP opcode.

For custom php settings read centminmod.com/phpfpm.html#customphpini. You might want to create /etc/centminmod/php.d/b_customphp.ini to override centmin mod defaults at /etc/centminmod/php.d/a_customphp.ini and restart PHP-FPM.

Also outlined in Getting Started Guide Step 17

To do general PHP-FPM tuning, read PHP-FPM - How to troubleshoot & optimize PHP-FPM server? and learn how to enable and analyse your PHP-FPM status output

He is right. On WordPress I use elementor a lot and you can't even use it unless you up the memory limit but adding more past that doesn't increase performance.

How did you do it? Through wp-config? And what values did you give it?

I edited the custom php.ini and gave it the amount that elementor asked for. Look at the above links and let me know if you need more help.
