    Hi!
    As the title says, my name is Martin. Over the past 6 months or so, i've begun hosting my own websites, on DigitalOcean. In the process i've learnt to use Linux (Ubuntu Server 14.04 is my preferred OS, as it's what i know the best).

    I go to a Danish school, were i'm currently studying web-development (Mainly PHP). The quality of the classes is varying. My teacher is alright, but isn't too great at explaining things (still can't wrap my head around PHP OOP). But since i started self studying, i'm enjoying it so much more. Although the assignments can be tedious (we're talking assignments made from 2009 to 2012), i'm hanging in.

    Read about Centmin Mod yesterday, and decided to try and setup a box. And possibly move most of my sites over to the CentOS platform, because of the ease of Centmin Mod. Seems like the enterprise also prefer CentOS over Ubuntu Server. But fact of the matter is, i'm happy i chose Ubuntu as my first Linux OS. There's lots and lots of tutorials, for newcomers to the Linux world.

    To the team behind, contributers, and the community. I'd like to thank you all for what you're doing. This is going to save me, and my team lots of hours. So we can spend them coding websites instead.

    Thanks for reading my introduction. And have a nice day! :)

    Welcome!

    I recently discovered CentMinMod myself and it has been a great experience, and a great community behind a great package of software.

    I do feel with you here. I fully understand. I have been in the same place earlier - informatik assistent - before I had to say stop and jumped directly over to - datamatiker uddannelse - and then I was 'born' again and on right track with 3 teachers who could their stuff.

    Well - I gave up. I did try to learn C++ back then - but could not get my head around like you with php oop. Also everything today is OOP in some flavor i believe.

    You don't have to skip that because of your wish to enjoy CMM. You can have a mysql replica server, backup storage server - cluster web server - or what else you have in mind. Maybe have your own dns or mailserver to support your CMM install etc. The choices is many. Its a lovely world.

    Just be creative. For my own month here I have also learned a few things from the guys here.

    Again - Welcome.

    @ModeltogTossen

    I started out at SDE studying IT-Supporter. But i was right out of folkeskolen, not mature enough. Didn't finish grundforløbet, but got some Cisco experience, so it wasn't totally wasted. I have always known i should work in IT, but i think it was for the best. Took a few months as an anlægsgartner, at a produktionsskole. Got lots of fresh air, learnt how to respect people. Was fun to do something else too.

    I'm happy i chose the Web-Integrator line, it has opened up a whole new world for me. Hope i can give either IT-Supporter or Datamatiker a shot, later in life.

    (Btw. Sorry for butchering English, for all you non-danes. Guess you'll just have to live with the Danglish :p )

    I am keeping some services on Ubuntu Server. I have a LEMP stack running, which acts as my development enviroment, backup server which i don't dare screwing around with, Mumble and a few game servers. The switch to CentOS for "production" is mainly because of Centmin Mod, and so i can get to know CentOS as a whole.

    Production is in quotes, as it's intended for production value sites. The sites are only showcases, no users or anything, yet. :)

    For now they have accepted my english flavor - so I think they can absorb one more :playful:.. But yours is indeed very good - as I read it. Last - Nice to meet you. Have a nice weekend.
