Just registered. I've known about Centminmod for years, but have never got started.

I want to make it a weekend project...

    I had a question...
There's looooads of super cheap hosting providers...

I'll use a super cheap one to start and learn before changing to something more reputable...

How do you best 'stress test'?
The major factor I guess is the traffic...
Let's say they promise 1TB a month... that's no good if with 10 users connected, the speed is 1kb per second connection?

I'll ask in the other forums if I don't get an answer here
    Thanks

Welcome! Use tools like JMeter or Loader.io to test speed and server response under load. Bandwidth means little if speeds drop with just a few users. Test at different times to spot throttling. Starting cheap is fine, but a reliable host matters!
