I'm SneakyDave, I've been a LAMP user since the Mandrake and RedHat "Cartman" distro days and PHP 3.3 with its register_globals option being 'true'.

Lately, I've made the switch to NginX, using some caching mechanisms (mostly APC), but I'm looking for tips and techniques for moving off MySQL and getting some better PHP performance.

I host a few sites on a few servers, mostly hobby sites, and a couple of non-profits. Being raised on RedHat distros makes me fond of CentOS systems, so I thought eva2000's site would be a great fit for me.

I'm been a software engineer for 20+ years and enjoy soaking up knowledge from smarter men than me.

I'm not a bleeding or leading edge type of guy. I like things stable and non blood pressure raising. Due to CentOS' problematic upgrade routines, I normally reserve those types of upgrades for when I replace servers. But if there's a way to upgrade from 6.5 to 7.0, I'll definitely give a try some weekend.

Curious if they're going to have a 32bit version of 7.0. I have a small nginx web server I use for testing with just half a gig of RAM that I have 32bit installed on. Might play with it on there if there's a 32bit version available eventually.

Looks like they'll still release a 32bit version. Not really sure why they do that, with memory getting cheaper all the time, but whatever.
