    great minds and all :)

    indeed.. like ngx_pagespeed there's no free lunch for page load performance as you pay for it in server resource usage i.e. cpu, ram, disk etc :D

    Luckily the server usage is one-off and not like Pagespeed, optimize the source over and over again (without saving to output) at browser request.
    And you're done.
    I wonder how Kraken.io Image Optimizer and https://tinypng.com is doing compared to guetzli. Does anyone have time to try it?

    Yeah previous linked article i posted highlights how much longer it takes to process guetzli optimised images. While it's once off, I can't imagine how it would fair if you have say 1,000 images or 10,000 images !

    ya know you want to :D

    After several searching, seems guetzli uses a lot of memory and cpu so not desirable for large forums :|.
    I'll leave this option disabled on TH Image Optimizer.
