While researching using imapsync tool as a way to migrate Google Gsuite legacy-free domain's IMAP emails to alternative providers, I came across an interesting tip which suggests you can add the Google Gsuite legacy email accounts to the Microsoft Outlook app first as IMAP accounts. Then use the Microsoft Outlook app to export the account and all IMAP email folders to a .pst backup file.

Then apparently, you can just move to the new email provider and setup the account in the Outlook app as IMAP based and then re-import that .pst backup file into the new email provider. Zoho Mail has a guide for using the .pst backup file for migration at Email Migration - Multiple PST Files to Zoho Mail accounts and I assume same can be done for any IMAP based provider too. But that is using their own migration tools and not a direct re-import of .pst backup file into Outlook app.

I've gotten as far as exporting but haven't tried the importing part yet. If folks have tried this with success or gotcha issues that need workarounds, please share and reply to this thread for using this method :)
