    Hey,

so I'm studying informatics at the moment and we (the students) wanted a way to share files/code etc.
Most of the users didn't want to use the big providers for some reasons so I offered to host the stuff on one of my VPS'.
I decided to give GitLab a try since I meant to try it out since a while anyway, basically I just followed the documentation for existing nginx installs and it works just fine.

I really like it and prefer it over GitHub and all these other providers.

Might be nice to have it as an option in centmin.sh at some point :)

    That's great!
But I actually meant installing the community edition (self-hosted) on a centminmod based server :D

oh, no need free hosted version of gitlab works fine GitLab CE Install | Centmin Mod Community

There's no plans to add a centmin.sh option to install gitlab self hosted version. You'd have to install it yourself :)

I already have :D just thought it would be a nice thing to have (in the future)
Mostly work with people that are very privacy oriented and want everything to be self-hostd, that is why I use this ;)

Yeah can understand privacy.. just with self hosted you loose alot of redundancy and auto backups the hosted version has. So if code is important to folks, data resilience might be more of a priority that data privacy.

Indeed, they will have to live with that choice I guess.
I have several backups of everything I need :)
