    • CentOS Version: AlmaLinux 9
    • Centmin Mod Version Installed: 131.00stable
    • Nginx Version Installed: Not installed
    • PHP Version Installed: Not installed
    • MariaDB MySQL Version Installed: Not installed
    • When was last time updated Centmin Mod code base ? : Fresh installation
    • Persistent Config: N/A
    I'm making a fresh installation of centminmod on a new AlmaLinux 8 server, provisioned with KVM. The server came with SELINUX enabled, but that's disabled by CMM install script, so shouldn't be the issue.

    However, during installation the step to clone CMM repo from github fails, as the server is unable to connect to github site. I've tried doing manual curl, and while it's working for google, getting the following for github:
    Code:
    $ curl -ivk https://github.com
    *   Trying 140.82.112.4:443...
    * Immediate connect fail for 140.82.112.4: Network is unreachable
    * Closing connection 0
    curl: (7) Couldn't connect to server

    Hmm check GitHub Status for issues. But could be your server IP address is being blocked by Github!

    Who is the web host ? If it's an hourly billed provider like Hetzner, Linode, Vultr or Digitalocean, you can try destroying that VPS instance and spin up another on another IP address.

    The site is hosted on ssdnodes and has only IPv6 address. Could that be the source of the issue?

    oh there's your problem ssdnodes is very very very very VERY slow and overloaded and super restricted for CPU, memory and disk performance. One Centmin Mod user reported Centmin Mod initial install time that was in hours. Folks have reported that 8x CPU cores on ssdnodes barely equal 1x CPU on other VPS web hosts.

    That explains your performance issue. Move web hosts and you'll get better performance :)

    Just got informed by SSD Nodes that github is only accessible via IPv4. So that's the reason.

    That must be a SSDnodes specific restriction ?

    Apparently that's a restriction from GitHub's end. Anyway, I've cancelled my SSD nodes server. Will look at alternatives which don't cost a bomb, and don't fleece either.

    That's interesting as I had some Centmin Mod users report using with IPv6 only VPSes so they would have had to have Github connectivity to use Centmin Mod. Haven't tested IPv6 only servers myself given the availability of IPv4 still with servers
