fix

are you uploading individual files ? that if you set filezilla or winscp to simultaneous connections will trigger FAQ item 40 outlined protections - you can alter the value of the threshold outlined instructions in FAQ items 40 & 41

so if you had 40 simultaneous connections and 40 files to upload that's 40 connections to pure-ftpd

workaround/tip

Best to just upload zip file and extract it on server side. Example i posted at https://community.centminmod.com/posts/31829/

or quick example of how i upload stuff via sftp as root or pure-ftpd - example xf.zip file upload to /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/zips directory i created and xenforo web root at /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public

1. So cd in zip directory at /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/zips
2. unzip xf.zip
3. change user/group ownership of all files in extracted upload directory to nginx
4. change into upload directory at /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/zips/upload
5. copy command to force overwrite with alias disabled and recursively copy with preserved file permssions all files and directories into xenforo installed web root /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public
6. restart nginx and php-fpm to clear caches and php zend opcache

Uploading individual files one at a time is slow compared to uploading zip and extracting on server and copying with overwrite to target location i.e. /home/nginx/domains/domain.com/public

That's how I upgrade scripts for the past 15+ yrs

use IP Location Finder | Detailed geolocation data and RESTful API to confirm your ISP ip and then grep csf firewall for your ISP ip address and post output from command - you can mask your isp ip if you want
