    Invision uses a script to convert to utf8mb and i don't know if that value at the my.cnf cause any issues after or before a conversion .....?

    Scenario 1: I use utf8 the default and convert it using the script to utf8mb4 and then Centminmod adds this parameter... Can that cause an issue?

    Scenario 2: Have in place the charset utf8 by Centminmod and then convert using the Invision script to utf8mb4... Can that cause an issue?

    It should if you just leaving Centmin Mod to use utf8 default for MariaDB MySQL as MySQL client auto value previous would be the server default which is utf8 anyway AFAIK.

    Now if you change to utf8mb4 default for MariaDB MySQL instead it would be hard to say whether there would be issues usually they wouldn't for English character based sites. For non-utf8 or non-utf8mb4 sites's data would also be unknown. That's why conversions of such should be only done after full backup is made.
