Vultr - I moved away a majority of my websites with the exception of 1. The downtime on it has been monitored by NixStats and JetPack email notifications. 50 minutes downtime.

Digital Ocean - My first VPS host, I moved to Vultr when speeds became abysmal, monitored by NixStats alone the server has gone down for 2 hours with 1 maintenance lasting 1 hour. (2 hours 2 minutes total downtime)

RamNode - I've only had 1 of my (12) servers ever go down for a scheduled Kernel update and the downtime on that was only 14 minutes. Pretty impressive. Ramnode has become my goto host.

I know the following may not be considered VPS's but I figured this would be useful for anyone who was thinking about these guys (and people finding this post via search engine)
Webfaction recently had a downtime of 1 hour 15 minutes, before that the downtimes were max 5 minutes. Total downtime over 6 months = 1 hour 38 minutes

GoDaddy shared hosting has sporadic downtimes lasting 1-3 minutes according to my NixStats. Over 6 months the total downtime here has been 48 minutes.

NameCheap shared hosting also has sporadic downtime equating to 44 minutes of downtime over the last 6 months according to nixstats.

Big shoutout to NixStats (code beta to get in) for providing such great statistics.

Interesting downtime numbers, really depends on how lucky you are with which vps node you're on with your web host. Ramnode is great but i did have one VPS have a hardware failure and data recovery failed too. Luckily, 2 months prior I had already moved the site to Linode KVM VPS so touch wood !

Nixstats is great using it along with Nodequery myself amongst others Monitoring Server Statistics & Uptime - Centmin Mod LEMP Web Stack for CentOS :)

I've been backing up to S3 daily and it's definitely the only way I can sleep safe at nighjt.
