smtp cant connect from xenforo

    Hi :)

    new centmin user and i am having trouble getting xenforo to connect to smtp server to send mail out. Pretty sure i have the ports open but it times out when trying to connect to either amazon or zoho. i am sure i am missing something dumb but i have tried everything i can think of

    Who is your web host ? some web hosts block SMTP outbound mail by default until you contact them to unblock it and provide ID verificiation as a way to combat spammers. So if it's first time using such a web host, it could be that unless you have already used this web host before and had no problems with outbound SMTP/emails.

    Yeah i believe Linode like Vultr do block SMTP for new customers until you get them to unblock A New Policy to Help Fight Spam | Linode

    So reading Email - Steps to ensure your site/server email doesn't end up in spam inboxes is relevant too
