Let's talk about domain names registrars - which one do you use or want to use?

Did anyone use whois information protection (like "person: Private Person")?

I'm looking for godaddy (they're pretty cheap) for my next .biz domain, but they don't offer free whois privacy protection.

namecheap, vidahost, servercenter and namesilo are the ones I currently use. I don't like having all my eggs in 1 basket.

Just read good opinion about www.privatewhois.net (Fundacion Private Whois), but:
    1) They do only private whois.
    2) I don't get how exactly I must transfer domains under their protection. Did I need to use snail mail (eek!) or phone call them? Anybody got any experience with them?

Yeah I always use whois privacy. Hence why most of my domains are with Internet.bs http://www.internetbs.net as it's free whois privacy included :)

I have a few at Namecheap.com https://www.namecheap.com as well as Internet.bs doesn't provide .me and .tv extension domains.

Unfortunately, not all domain extensions natively offer whois privacy due to domain authority's relative policies. For example, I wanted .io domain but .io authority doesn't allow for such.

I did find out one can use https://www.domainsbyproxy.com/Default.aspx to hide whois for domains that don't allow for such i.e. .io. I believe it's only a service available through GoDaddy.com, Wild West domains and Blue Razor domains affiliate registrars https://www.domainsbyproxy.com/AboutUs.aspx ? You can find it under Domain Options on http://godaddy.com/domains/domain-name-search.aspx?ci=8990#domain-options

Haven't used DomainsByProxy yet as I don't have any domains with Godaddy right now.

I've already paid in advance 2yrs to 6yrs for most of my domains to take advantage of bulk year discounts. So it saves me looking around for registrars right now :)

Wow, namesilo and internetbs.net - they're really gems! And I see that internetbs.net uses Fundacion Private Whois automatically!
    Thanks a lot.

I'm using namecheap only, and yes also using private whois.
And most of my domains are already paid for the next 4 years :)
