    • When was last time updated Centmin Mod code base ? : That's now what error occurs.

    Problem was found on my Hetzner Root server. Previously was fine, I've also tried a few times with this updating. Last night due to some reasons I reinstalled the OS completely. Then, today, when I was trying this, Centmin Menu 23 then option 1 or 3 (with option 2 it just worked fine), I got the bellow error:

    Code:
    --------------------------------------------------------

    I don't get it. It said there was issue with local DNS resolver, but then, the two ping tests did resolve without problem.

    I also tried to add 8.8.8.8 to /etc/resolv.conf. It didn't help. What's worse, it added like 3-5 seconds delay for a domain resolve. So I then changed back to the original resolv.conf.

    Please, does anyone have idea, what the problem would be?

    Many Thanks!
    Damian

    Tried again today. Still with no luck. I tried shutting down Hetzner's root firewall as well, as previously there were some problems like curl/wget couldn't work were caused by root firewall settings. However, it didn't work either. Have no idea now. As Menu 23 Option 2 works every time.

    FYI, if you're just updating existing 123.09beta01, you can use centmin.sh menu option 23 submenu option 2 or the new command = cmupdate

    Yep. Everything is fine with option 23 submenu option 2. Wired. So, bellow are the outputs you may need:

    Code:
    # cat /etc/resolv.conf
    ### Hetzner Online GmbH installimage
    # nameserver config
    nameserver 213.133.98.98
    nameserver 213.133.100.100
    nameserver 213.133.99.99
    nameserver 2a01:4f8:0:1::add:9999
    nameserver 2a01:4f8:0:1::add:9898
    nameserver 2a01:4f8:0:1::add:1010
    Code:
    # awk '/nameserver/ {print $0}' /etc/resolv.conf | awk 'NR==1 {print $2}'
    nameserver
    Code:
    [13:08][[email protected] /]# LOCALDNS_RESOLVER=$(awk '/nameserver/ {print $0}' /etc/resolv.conf | awk 'NR==1 {print $2}')
    [13:09][[email protected] /]# dig +short A github.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER >/dev/null 2>&1; echo $?
    10
    [13:09][[email protected] /]# dig +short A raw.githubusercontent.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER >/dev/null 2>&1; echo $?
    10
    [13:09][[email protected] /]# dig +short A github.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER
    dig: couldn't get address for 'nameserver': not found
    [13:10][[email protected] /]# dig +short A raw.githubusercontent.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER
    dig: couldn't get address for 'nameserver': not found

    Code:
    [13:10][[email protected] /]# LOCALDNS_RESOLVER='8.8.8.8'
    [13:11][[email protected] /]# dig +short A github.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER >/dev/null 2>&1; echo $?
    9
    [13:11][[email protected] /]# dig +short A raw.githubusercontent.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER >/dev/null 2>&1; echo $?
    9
    [13:12][[email protected] /]# dig +short A github.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER
    ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached
    [13:12][[email protected] /]# dig +short A raw.githubusercontent.com @$LOCALDNS_RESOLVER
    ;; connection timed out; no servers could be reached

    When doing the last one, with 8.8.8.8, all the results came really very slow.

    Wish you could find out the problem. Thank you!

    matching incorrect to your entry
    Code (Text):
    # nameserver config

    remove that from /etc/resolv.conf
