Yeah, I was just looking at those server options, there doesn't seem to be a choice of CPU speed when you deploy a new server. I was thinking maybe the new CPU speeds were in line with the price increase, but it appears that the price increase is across the whole line of products.

it's fine here.. yeah Vultr is actually reducing their VPS speed from 3.4-3.6Ghz to 2.0-2.4Ghz - you will only get >3.4Ghz if you manage to find room on their older VPS host nodes. Basically, looks like Vultr raised prices and downgraded cpu and disk I/O performance to be closer inline with DigitalOcean and then adjusted some lower VPS plans feature matrix (disk capacity) to be closer to Linode's offerings.

I went and checked my vultr node again, because I thought I signed up for vultr because they had a higher CPU speed, and lower 2G RAM pricing, and yeah, I'm still at 3.4ghz.

Have they said anything about downgrading existing accounts yet?

I've been watching this thread, thanks for the heads up.

Vultr has yet to even formally announce the price increases ! and no word on cpu downgrading on existing accounts. I doubt they would retroactively downgrade existing accounts - that would be financial suicide on their part !

    Hi George,
I just deploy an instance on Vultr, then installing lshw.
Do you know why the reported CPU freq different from lshw and 'cat /proc/cpuinfo'?
cpuinfi said it 3600MHz but lshw show only 2GHz.
