A big part of operating your own VPS or dedicated server is constant learning and topping up your system admin knowledge. So I decided to start this thread to constantly post links to DigitalOcean specific tutorials for both CentOS and Ubuntu/Debian that I feel maybe of interest to Centmin Mod users.

While the actual steps may differ from CentOS vs Ubuntu/Debian vs Centmin Mod CentOS setups (i.e. for Nginx/PHP-FPM), the information and explanations sometimes do translate over :)

Just take note of whether the tutorial is for CentOS, Ubuntu, or Debian etc ;)

Yeah the non-Centmin Mod way :)

Although with the normal way outlined in the article you do end up with outdated versions for PHP-FPM and MariaDB (5.4.16 and 5.5.37 respectively).
