Yeah got the email about this a while back. Effectively a 20% price increase. While sad, it probably is expected given the global inflationary pressures everyone is experiencing right now. My usual sweet spot for VPS pricing is $10/cpu core i.e. US$40/month for 4x CPUs.

Curious how many mainstream OSes which have moved to systemd still work well with just 512MB memory? DigitalOcean's new $4/month with 1 vCPU, 512MB memory, 500GB bandwidth, and a 10GB SSD still has an audience?

DNS server. Even with only 512MB of memory, you can handle quite a few DNS queries. DigitalOcean has a good network with good connections and lots of peers. Partly for this reason, it is ideal for a cheap DNS server.
