Dediserve.com has a 50% off for life of the initial ordered resource pool going on until June 19th, 2015 Global expansion continuing with Australia launch | dediserve is a global cloud IAAS provider So less than 24hrs till ending of the deal. My affiliate link if you want to centminmod.com/dediserve ;) :)

I was going to wait until I finished my benchmarks and review testing for my Dediserve Los Angeles pool, but thought some folks might want to take advantage of the 50% off deal as they have 14 world wide locations so a location for everyone :)

Basically, they offer ordering resource pools which you can then divide or combine into several servers or one big server. There host nodes are either dual Intel Xeon E5-2660v1 2.2Ghz or E5-2660v2 2.2Ghz based depending on availability at each location. So they have 16 cpu/32 threads and 20 cpu/40 threads respectively. Default they only allow you to size an single server within th resource pool to max 16 cpus for my E5-2660v1 host node in LA. But tech support said they can manually scale me up to 32 cpus for my resource pool, so that's what I got for initial tests :)

Only limit is they limit uplink to 250Mbps with private lan support at 1000Mbps/1Gbps. And bandwidth is 1.5TB per 1GB of memory you have in your resource pool.

Resources can be downgraded or upgraded and pro-rata on daily basis. But 50% of deal is only for at time order resources. If you upgrade later it's at full cost and not the 50% off deal.

My resource pool for initial tests.

My first server build for testing.

I will start a new thread with full benchmark tests later on.

Interesting to know that you also took the offer. I am on the 2 core 2 GB plan. Unixbench score below 1000 for total 2 cores, but I think it has something to do with Xen (on linode I had 3 digit unixbench, but when migrated to KVM I began seeing much much better scores).

Took quite some time to install.

Yes it's partly due to Xen that Unixbench numbers are lower than say KVM VPS Taming variance of UnixBench results when comparing systems · Issue #23 · kdlucas/byte-unixbench · GitHub Dediserve is also planning to roll out KVM support soon too so that should be better.

Which dediserve location did you get as some of the parts of install like downloads would be geographically dependent. My were

Yea - I would expect the download to be worse for my location - Singapore.

Noticed you tested on CentOS 6. I did my install on CentOS 7 with your beta 3.

Yup I pick Los Angeles most of the time as it has a nice mix of response time for both Asia and USA and Europe. It's right in the middle :D This forum is in Fremont, California for same reason :)

Yeah with CentOS 6.6. Will be doing lots of tests on my Dediserve resource pool - mainly server cluster/high availability tests since I can divide my resource pool from 1 big server to 6 smaller servers :) I need lots of cpu cores and the 50% off just makes it worth while from my calculations, there's no better deal out there for the price per cpu core once you go past >8 cpu cores per server = US$200/32 = $6.25 per core :)

BTW, Dediserve will be repeating this 50% off for life offer in a few weeks as they do their Hong Kong location launch - so still folks can wait for that if they want.

Dediserve support has been very responsive to my questions and all (shout out to James). Just note max cpu core allocation on user end selectable per server is 16, for 17-32 cpu cores you'd need to get tech support to bump at their end.

James explained their uplink/bandwidth from terms of service, so need to be aware of this if you need a fatter pipe.

So if you had 20GB memory, 100Mbps sustained traffic support or ~30TB bandwidth :)

They were kind enough to bump me to 500Mbps uplinks – so getting that setup now. I have a full run of benchmarks I usually do for both their 250Mbps and 500Mbps uplink states of my server. I am hoping they roll out KVM soon, so I can also compare with their XEN virtualized servers. So it would be Xen 250Mbps vs Xen 500Mbps vs KVM 250Mbps vs KVM 500Mbps :)

And they do offer DDOS protection?
Hongkong would be 40-60ms for my country :D
    The very closest location :D

If I dont remember wrongly they do have it in one of their EU locations and could possibly be working on it to bring it to other locations. Need to check with them to be sure.

yeah it's slower especially on Xen vps.. should be better on KVM vps

my dediserve singapore ones are E5-2660v2

    Code:
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v2 @ 2.20GHz
    dediserve sydney also E5-2660v2

    Code:
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 v2 @ 2.20GHz
    dediserve london are E5-2660v1

    Code:
    Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU E5-2660 0 @ 2.20GHz
Singapore is a new data center so probably more likely E5-2660v2 than E5-2660v1

Your application is only able to make use of one core?

    @eva2000 HK location is KVM.

Yeah I only have Dediserve Sydney for centminmod.com Sydney due to nice 2TB bandwidth quota and LA pool for other multi server clustering tests as you can create different number of VPS from those pooled resources :)
