Downside vs my OVH server, this isn't as fast as NVME.
    (about 30% only)

Simple ssd and Nvme are different so it is normal to have different results....

Hivelocity has very good support reputation.

    I can guarantee this also.
Almost just a few minutes to response if you need them :).
    vs OVH takes a day.

I have a few clients of mine on Hivelocity as well who previously were with Wiredtree before Liquidweb acquired Wiredtree. They're also happy with Hivelocity

I'm just curious, what is the website's stats to require this beast machine. If you don't mind sharing.
I read online that many people claimed they are serving millions monthly pageviews on small budget vps.

    the biggest site is...
    • XenForo 2.1
    • 53k-60k unique visitors daily
    • 8m+ request daily
    • 250gb+ bandwidth daily
    • 600-1,000 realtime users
and other small site like file hosting which served 100k+ page view daily.

If this is just a wordpress site, I can surely host this on small VPS.
Forum is interactive, so requires more powerful server.

    +... I got DOS/HTTP Flood daily.
Sometimes very strong sometimes just a few IP targeting my site with HTTP Flood.
I don't want my user to suffer slowdown or worst downtime.

So you're using Hivelocity DDOS protection as well (additional cost) or not ?

    Just the default included:
But I will use Cloudflare now for all my site to lessen/combat most attack.

I have never seen Cloudflare to stop an Attack. I was expecting that but i think that they pass the traffic to the user.

At least for the Free account.

Also they don't offer protection for the ip of the server layer 4 as that's where the most will hit....

I was expecting the same for http layer 7 attacks to get blocked by i don' think so that they will do that.

They announce something related but didn't have time to check it.

Very nice for centmin mod install time at 644 seconds ! Helps to have 12 cpu threads and clocked that high in terms of cpu frequency :)

I've hosted a client's sites on HiVelocity, and I can also vouch for the quality of support. However, I did get equally fast response from ssd nodes for my own VPS, and it's costing the same for the whole year what HiVelocity costs for a month.

HiVelocity doesn't seem to offer any real DDoS protection. Neither does cloudflare despite the claim. We had our site attacked from China on Friday. Nothing stopped it until I added an explicit cloudflare firewall rule to captcha challenge all incoming traffic from China.

Also, since it's client's sites and he wanted a control panel, so using VestaCP. Now, wondering whether his WordPress sites should be moved from the dedicated server to my CMM based VPS, as the server response time is more than 2 seconds.

technically Cloudflare offering the firewall rule feature, is part of the encompassing 'DDOS protection' feature set :)

Technically, yes. But they claim that automatic DDoS protection is enabled by default on all accounts. So, this means that no rules setup should be required.
