Just curious, how many of you here are still happily using Cloudflare? It doesn't seem like I've heard much about it lately.

I'm thinking of giving it another shot, this time with a paid plan (originally tried it about 2 years ago on the free plan; wasn't particularly impressed and my visitors reported many connection errors). My forum and WordPress blog posts can get quite image-heavy, so I'm particularly interested in their Polish image compression feature.

I know @RoldanLT and @BamaStangGuy use extensively Cloudflare with Centmin Mod. I have a few Centmin Mod sites behind free Cloudflare plan working fine too including centminmod.com's mirrors for domains centmin.com and centmin.sh. @Matt and @pamamolf ?

Haven't checked on my cloudflare mirror domain's pagespeed compared to my centminmod.com non-cloudflare geodns clustered setup. Still my own centminmod.com non-cloudflare geodns clustered setup with Amazon Route53 dns + 16 active VPS geographically clustered VPS servers wins over Cloudflare for perceived page load render time metric = SpeedIndex :D I'll win on Sydney/Australia visitors too as Cloudflare free plan doesn't have a Australian pop but I have a Sydney and Melbourne VPS as part of centminmod.com's geodns clustered setup :D

WPT Sydney EC2 tests very close probably because centmin.sh and centmin.com cloudflare mirrors use centminmod.com has the source backend and centminmod.com has a geoDNS setup VPS server in Singapore which is where Cloudflare probably contacted to get centminmod.com backend requests from

I am using it for almost all my servers (not many) and is working great....

For optimizations you must check them one by one as the software that you may use like Wordpress or IPB may not work well with them....

Easiest think to do is get the free plan and test and then go ahead with the Pro one....

Also keep in mind that you may have some issues with Microsoft Inbox when you have Cloudflare in front....

I have a server with opendkim/rdns/dmark bla bla all valid and checked from the Microsoft headers and not from third part services and they are going to spam ....

Only for Microsoft and they are simple forum registration emails :(

    Using smtp?

I think the price is high as a few clients of me are sending around 500.000 emails per month .....

Well worth it in my opinion, especially considering the importance of deliverability.

I haven't sent emails from my own server for 6 or 7 years now. First SendGrid, now I'm on SES. Highly recommended.

Oh and if cost is an issue also you can get a full cpanel/WHM license for VPS $15/m or dedicated $35/m and just host the site @domain.com emails via cpanel/WHM pointing email DNS there with the rest of site on Centmin Mod. IIRC, @Matt offered up that tip before. Something to discuss in a separate thread in Domains, DNS, Email & SSL Certificates forums :)

That will be great for centminmod community also...... pinned at emails section !

    Thanks George :)

I use Cloudflare on some of my sites and on others I don't use it.

Another +1 for Amazon SES. To limit the cost on xenForo forums, I unselect the enabling of email alerts for watched threads so the member has to re-enable it themselves after signing up. That way they wouldn't unsubscribe via email due to dozens of replies to threads they posted in (avoiding a complaint sent to Amazon) and they get the more important emails my forum send them (newsletters and PM replies).

Checking the tutorials i can see that i must verify my @domain.com so i can use the ses service but how can i do that on my Centminmod server ?

I'm always using Cloudflare as DNS for all of my domain.
Majority of my site uses Cloudflare CDN also on Free and Pro plan.
Works fine with some glitch sometimes.

Business plan on Wordpress site is Very Powerful!
I can handle 10K+ visitors per second on a small dedicated server :D.

I use CloudFlare for every single site.

Christian Forums is on the Business plan and uses Railgun. Can't be happier.

I don't use it. Everytime i see some issue reported on XF forum, it turns out to be cloudflare related.
I'm sure there are benefits to it but I want to keep my sites simple unless there is a real need.

This is an absurd and false statement. Hyperbole at its finest.
