    Subject says all.. Its two or perhaps three question about ElasticSearch and XF specific add-on. I do not ask for help just a general use of that between 2 XF admins..

    See, I consider to go buying the XenForo Enhanced Search to be using as a bridge between XF and ElasticSearch.

    1.
    Did you as XF admin have it from beginning or just got it later?
    2.
    What is the memory impact on your system with using it and is it that good to do a better delivery of search results?
    3. Do you think that you could be without it today if completely honest?

    I got it later but memory impact depends on how much memory ES requires (forum size dependent) + how much memory you configure ES to use

    I set ES to use 256MB of memory and only use ES not because forum requires or needs up at the current size, but just because I want to learn how to use it for myself and my XF paid consulting clients

    SpaceBattles uses Elastic Search with a total of 1.5gb of ram allocated to it and ~19.5 million posts, and 1.4 million conversation messages indexed.

    Works very well when hosted on a modern machine with SSDs

    Really, on this very site? It does not sound of much.

    Crazy counts - I only dream about that..

    I will find some money somewhere and go buy that extension.. I just hate that XF do include EU vat to their prices. Damn expensive after that. Thank you both for your input.

    If your forum has only 500K post below, or you have a limited server then you don't need much ES.
