My primary focus is doing computational batch work on VPS.

Vultr has worked fairly well at a good price of $5 per core. The Vultr servers cores are performing ~6% faster than a dedicated 16 core E5-2670. I use a asm optimized program running FFTs that leverages SSE...SSE4.2. Haswell (Xeon v3+) shows a large speed increase.

Netcup.de offers dedicated root servers E5-2680 v4 @ 2.4, 8 cores for $53 (at current exchange rate). $6.63 per core. They are 8% faster than Vultr relative to Vultr which works out to $6.13 per core relative to Vultr's core speed. (1171-1082)/1082)

Any ideas where or how I can lower costs for this hobby project using ~60 cores?
Xeon E3 v3+ at the right price should be a great fit.

    Thanks
