    Hello :)

    I was playing around with galera and 3 test vps server and i found when i was starting the second server to join the cluster that was trying to sync:

    but there was a permission error and MariaDB was not starting :(

    Checking the folder i found that the permissions was set to root and when i change them back to mysql:mysql for folders and files all was working great :)

    So i think it will be good to get that folder on another place.

    As if when it runs again may revert to root and even for a second that may cause issues.

    I know that you can set correct permissions direct after that but it may cause issues to cluster sync and i prefer if you agree George to set it to another place.... ?

    Thank you

    Also if i am not wrong the query_cache can be enabled on latest versions...

    If yes why not remove it from default centminmod mycnf template as it will help a lot for performance? :)

    Thank you

    that folder is meant to be owned by root user and not mysql user as the folder by default in Centmin Mod is set to be ignored by mysql server
    i.e. in /etc/my.cnf
    Code (Text):
    [mysqld]
    ignore_db_dirs=cmsetiofiotest

    not sure of Galera but latest MariaDB actually performs better with query_cache unlike Oracle/Percona MySQL. So use/disable at your own discretion/requirements and that statement was < 10.1.2. MariaDB is at 10.1.29 so > 10.1.2

    But Galera is not ignoring it and doesn’t start :-(

    Any other solution that will help for both?

    /var/lib/mysql/cmsetiofiotest directory is used by tools/setio.sh to auto tuning and calculate innodb related disk I/O settings based on disk benchmarks performed at /var/lib/mysql/cmsetiofiotest so moving it elsewhere isn't ideal as folks may have mounted dedicated directory at /var/lib/mysql so moving elsewhere will result in centmin mod's tools/setio.sh not testing mysql underlying disk performance used for auto tuning of innodb related disk I/o numbers
