CMM Alternate Email

What exactly does setting an email as the alternate email does?

ALERTEMAIL='email@domain.com'

It seems to be separate from this:

Setup Server Administration Email
Emails will be used for future notification alert features

Will be prompted everytime run centmin.sh if both emails not entered

No wonder I have it in my custom config. I've used Maldet before.
