Looks like Cloudflare has added a new feature for paid plans under Traffic -> Health Checks to allow you to add origin health check monitoring of your origin servers. Cloudflare Pro plan gets 10 health checks and Cloudflare Business plan gets 50 health checks.

I'm very glad to see this; it's about time!

Cloudflare is in a great position to offer so many useful tools to webmasters.

FYI, if you do health checks via IP + Host Header instead of just IP, your will increase CF used bandwidth reported and also Argo bandwidth reported so make sure you set health check url/page to a load page size file etc i.e. plain text html file. My Argo bandwidth jumped from 11GB/day to 39GB for 1/4 of a day when I set health check to actual full page with IP + Host Header check for 6+ origins which had a page size of ~450KB. That is until I changed to static html page with keyword = online to check for which reduced that to just 6 byte page.

Hmm, first time I got false downtime alert.
Cloudflare reported Down | HTTP timeout occurred for 3 minutes, but my site works fine and still receiving activity.

It could be just a problem with some of their Pop.

I think there's been something up with Cloudflare the last few days.

The xenforo.com forums were very slow and I had a user reporting they were frequently getting error messages and having trouble accessing my site. It was fine for me, and there was nothing wrong with the server itself.

Health check is from CF Edge to origin connection and not from visitor to CF Edge servers. So you can still have issues between CF Edge and origin while visitor side doesn't.
