Cloudflare has announced their new public DNS resolvers with a privacy first focus Introducing DNS Resolver, 1.1.1.1 (not a joke).

Looks like there's some teething issues with some countries but should be sorted out eventually. So for server dns resolvers in /etc/resolv.conf you could eventually use something like
    Code (Text):
    nameserver 1.1.1.1
    nameserver 1.0.0.1
    nameserver 8.8.8.8
    options rotate

Or use on your local router/ISP or VPN connections and test via DNS leak test: Find and fix DNS leaks

i.e. my VPN connect visited browser session reports DNS as

I have always used Google DNS on my router but changed to CloudFlare once it was announced.

Yeah I just switched on my router and VPN servers and a select few servers in general for /etc/resolv.conf. So far so good :)
