Different folks absorb and learn new material in different ways. Some like to read while others like watch videos etc. So thinking about other ways of presenting Centmin Mod install and setup information to new users. One way is via HTML based slide decks.

I came across Remark a simple, in-browser, markdown-driven slideshow tool which I use to self hosted HTML based slide decks on centminmod.com.

This first draft preview of what it could look like.

Comments and suggestions are welcomed :)

Wait.. so you can't install on any other OS besides CentOS? That's new to me.

    • Centmin Mod only installs on CentOS 6 or CentOS 7 Linux distributions.
    • Highly recommended to use latest CentOS 7.x 64bit Linux distribution. Currently CentOS 7.4 is latest.

That was a rhetorical question :p

I'm just trying to express how I didn't know about it before. I'm familiar with centOS the most so that's what I chose by default and then came across Centminmod. It's a good thing I haven't tried out the other OSs first.

    Regarding the HTML Sl.i.cks..

i don't think they are suitable for a centmin documentation.
Why limiting the viewport to a specific height? Because of the impression to read thru a book? I would definitely miss being able to scroll one chapter up take a look again at the code and then back to my sentence. Scrolling thru a book will be quite frustrating if you just scroll to quick and then back and forth trying to catch the slide you are looking for. Since some code could also be too long for one slide, it would harm a) readability and b) copying text or code might be a challenge then too. Oh...and i just tested it on a mobile device. Script would need some tweaking but the UX would still be horrible.

    Form follows function! ;)
