Each month I usually check w3techs.com technology rankings for web server and web panels and other tech. This month is a new milestone as Centmin Mod makes its debut listing in w3techs.com's web panels ranking page to rank along side cPanel, Plesk, RunCloud and other web panels with a 1.7% market share and 0.1% of all sites tracked by w3techs :D

Thanks to all Centmin Mod LEMP stack users, couldn't achieve this without you all. Here's to more growth :D

Centmin Mod https://w3techs.com/technologies/details/wp-centminmod. You can see that the average Centmin Mod powered site has much higher traffic than other panels. Not surprising considering Centmin Mod LEMP stack powers 10% of the largest Xenforo forum sites on the internet and even HTTP Archives Technology Report lists a lot more high traffic sites as well.

Centmin Mod using sites by traffic ranking https://w3techs.com/technologies/breakdown/wp-centminmod/ranking

Looks like Centmin Mod LEMP stack is used by 6.9% of sites in top 1 million traffic sites, 9% of sites in top 100,000 and 5.4% of sites in top 10,000. Sounds about right as I know there are some Centmin Mod LEMP stack users in Alexa Top 1000/5000 :)

Yes, I think the shift to the next-generation of operating systems in a post-CentOS world will really help drive adoption for Centminmod. A lot of people will be looking to upgrade and modernize their infrastructure over the next few years and they will be exploring options they might not have considered before. Exciting times. :)

    Growth?
To prevent current users from not switching.

It is already almost impossible to get new decent EL7 servers. And no it is not always possible to just choose (Cherry Picking) a provider. Often you are stuck with current contracts. (charities e.g.)

2 perspectives that essentially say the same thing, I need to get EL8+ support happening :D

It is, though thanks also go to everyone who promotes and uses Centmin Mod to their own clients as we have web hosts, system/server admins and such spreading the word. It's pretty much word of mouth promotion :)

Off the top of my heads thanks to @Matt @pamamolf @rdan @jcat for spreading Centmin Mod usage :) Goes back to my sticky post at Attention Future Centmin Mod Experts ! - you can promote Centmin Mod and still earn some $$$ too :)

Thanks a lot Eva for all the effort.
I'm maintaining 30+ CMM based servers now.

But all of those are not counted on that stats as I have Nginx module headers more disabled/x-powered-by centminmod header removed also.

Cheers! Yeah I'd imagine some Centmin Mod users will hide the powered by headers, so stats aren't always accurate :)

Nice bump in percentages as of Dec 29th, 2022 for Top 100,000 and Top 10,000 sites with a slight drop in Top 1 million traffic sites for Centmin Mod usage.

Centmin Mod LEMP stack is used by 6.7% of sites in top 1 million traffic sites, 13.5% of sites in top 100,000 and 7.5% of sites in top 10,000

    w3tech-web-panels-centminmod-ranking-01.png

From https://w3techs.com/technologies/history_overview/web_panel relatively down only because of increases mainly from Plesk
