I'm having a really hard time deleting a couple OVH VPS.

    1. Impossible to delete / cancel VPS without contacting support.

    2. Continued billing. Unlike the dedicated server product, you're responsible for the price of the service even if you don't pay. Services aren't automatically cancelled like the servers.

    3. Support takes forever to get back about the cancelling service. It's taking 2 days per response from OVH.

I would HIGHLY AVOID getting any OVH VPSs or any other product which isn't a dedicated server.

Plenty of other options out there, do yourself a favor, avoid OVH VPSs.

Thanks for heads up.. it's confusing with OVH has they had some many versions of VPS and Cloud VPS plans to keep track of, which did you get. I have one of OVH Sydney 1 cpu Intel Xeon 3.5Ghz clocked VPSes from OVH - OVH 50% Off Discount for Annual Sydney & Singapore VPS Servers but haven't tried canceling.

But yes I'd generally avoid OVH VPS lines.. mine takes ages to do reinstall of OSes - it's in the hours nearly. And with confusion over their OVH VPS lines changing all the time.

I have 4 SSD VPSs in Canada.

I haven't found anywhere to cancel the service. What I'm seeing happen is people assume the VPS cancelled after no payment, when the customer doesn't pay... then OVH can collect from all those people via a collection agency.

Basically, they want me to pay for 3 VPSs for 3 month subscription each. So, 3 VPSs @ 3.XX for 3 months each - ends at the end of Feb - which equals around $40. They want me to pay the whole bill. I said I'd pay for a month of each - this month - for $9 but I haven't heard back yet.

Funny thing is that I turned off all the auto pay stuff and deleted anything which I thought was a subscription. But they just keep billing for the org three month option.

Frustrating and very shady business practices.

ouch.. OVH billing has always been sort of a mess but it's geographically dependent - OVH European/UK seem better. Let us know how you do - maybe hit up OVH on twitter or facebook for more attention ?

For European providers, it is pretty common that you are required to proactively cancel the service. Otherwise they keep billing. This is not OVH-specific.

However, I also stopped using their services. It is mainly the de-facto non-existence of support I didn't like. It took ages until they replied on a support ticket.

It really helps that the OVH owner and I follow each other on twitter. Sent him a DM and within about 20 minutes I had a reply to my support ticket (which has been replied too once in 5 days).

Anyway, the key to the VPS billing is to make sure under My Services > Manage my Services > you have payment frequency off:

automatic payment = you owe money if invoice is generated
manual payment = expires and deletes

    +1 to this.
I have 1x Singapore VPS from them, bought 1-full year plan around mid 2018 due to that 50% offer (which eva linked in one of the previous replies).
Mid Sept 2018, I had an issue with their networking. A lot of hosts that were likely using Cloudflare DNS couldn't be resolved (yarnpkg, npm, heck even Cloudflare APIs). So I made a ticket.
Unfortunately, for over 7 days I did not receive a reply. And during those days, the issue kept on persisting.
I ended up DM-ing @ovh_support_en on Twitter. They didn't reply the DM, but soon after that I received a reply to my ticket.
If I recall correctly, the reply was even from the owner of OVH himself. Though I believe it was just saying something about asking me to be patient as the correct department for the issue would be contacted. A few hours later I then received a reply from the department.

EDIT: Still though, the 50% discount was quite a bargain, so I just sucked it up for now. At least the issue didn't persist forever (not saying the over 7 days was not bad, it was very bad, but still).
