Wow interesting how BD Cache Addon vs Nginx PHP-FPM fastcgi_cache compares ! Xenforo listing hasn't been updated in 3 yrs nearly while XFRocks listing has been updated ! Wonder how that compares AppOptics wise to @Xon Redis cache and Dragonbyte Optimise addons for Xenforo. Something worth looking at and making use of AppOptics for :)

I'm also using this and all other Xon cache/redis addon.

So BDCache backend is also using Redis for storing Guest page cached data.

I'd try turning off one set of redis using caches and seeing how the other performs.

Very, very interesting stats, @rdan, thanks for sharing these.

I am particularly interested in the numbers because I also use AppOptics and have a similar sized forum on similar hardware (E3-1270 v5, 64GB RAM, 1TB SSD), but I am seeing much, much slower application (PHP-FPM) response times:

However, I am not using any special caching for XenForo 1.5, aside from the built in Memcached options in config.php.

How much of your speed do you attribute to those caching plugins vs. other optimizations that you may have done?

Right now, I'm just using this:
    • BDCache Addon
    • Redis Caching from @Xon
    • PHP w/ ZendOpcache, PGO
    • PHP-FPM with Dynamic settings (not ondemand)
