    Hi

Today we had another Zoho emails downtime today for 12Hours :(

Looking for a solution now like Postfix-Dovecot-Roundcube ....

Hope to find some easy to follow info so i can add it to my Centminmod setup....

Hope to see that as an addon maybe as almost all users before transfer web sites to Centminmod ask about emails like info@mydomain.com

    Thanks

    Hi,

I also use Zoho on some domains and im also affected by the downtime for the last hours and the problem is still not 100% resolved at this time.

But in my humble opinion, i don't think is the time for Centminmod developer to spend time in adding an email server. I think Centmindmod developer should stay focus on continue to improve this fantastic script making as primary objectives: performance and security.

Of course i'm not against a email option on Centminmod in the future. But myself for example will never use it. I use Centminmod just for build high performance websites and i always host all my email in external dedicated services, like Zoho, Gmail or Rackspace Mail.

Mail will always slow down server performance (imagine just the load caused by the spam and virus scanning..). Not talking about problem that come with managing our own email server like blacklists, ip reputation, etc.. Not for me!

    Centminmod miss only this one:

LDAP: NOT AVAILABLE(See PHP: LDAP - Manual)

Can we add it and set it as =n so if a user need it to enable it?

    Thank you

Indeed once proper mail server anti-spam and virus scanning is deployed you're be using much more server resources in terms of cpu, memory and disk. It's not uncommon to need an extra 4-16GB of memory depending your your mail traffic and mail sizes ! Example is mailscanner and spamassasin preview I did - eats huge amounts of memory and cpu resources !

Then there's IP reputation as it pertains to email deliverability.

And definitely do not want to spend my spare free time supporting mail server troubleshooting and mail delivery issues for free ! If I was making enough $$$ for Centmin Mod Premium memberships to work on Centmin Mod full time, I'd probably consider it :) But you'd need 100s of new premium members per month for that to happen. Maybe one day - full time I'd be able to roll out alot more features and at a faster rate :D

FYI, Centmin Mod development work to this point has been based in the past of only spending 2-4hrs per week on Centmin Mod in my free time (exception being 123.09beta01 development that has been more time consuming).
    will check

re ImproxMX - any decent domain registrar offers free email forwarding for your domains too ;) Some domain registrars also offer full @domainname email services too for small price or maybe free too.
