AMD Keynote at Computex 2019 announced a July 7th, 2019 release day for their AMD Ryzen 3 next generation AMD Ryzen 3000 product range with up to 8-12 cpu cores and motherboard manufacturers have server class motherboards to allow AMD Ryzen 3 to support ECC memory! Their AMD Ryzen 9 3900X is just overlapping and stepping on their older AMD ThreadRipper lower product range's toes with 12 cpu cores and 24 cpu threads but at a much cheaper price point :)
While they only mention up to 12 cpu cores on their Ryzen 9 3900X, there's rumours there's a higher 16 cpu core part ready and waiting to compete with whatever Intel releases.
Good news for AMD Ryzen ECC memory support for the server and workstation segment, ASRock Rack X470D4U AMD Ryzen Server Motherboards - STH including showing off a ASRock Rack 1U2LW-X470 1U Ryzen Server and ASRock Rack X399D8A-2T Ryzen Threadripper server motherboard. Looks like good candidates for OVH and Hetzner like cloud providers to offer for their dedicated bare metal servers and cheaper alternative to Intel's new Xeon E-2200 Skylake refresh cpus

Preparing to do a big 3-way dedicated server benchmark review with extensive testing between an Intel Xeon E-2276G Coffee Lake vs AMD Ryzen 3600 vs AMD Ryzen 3800X and first need to make sure all cpus turbo boost cpu frequency scalings are correct before I start benchmarking :)

As such wrote a script to collect cpu's frequency data and chart in out on a per cpu thread as well as all cpu thread basis.

stress 1 cpu thread cpu frequency check on AMD Ryzen 3800X 3.9-4.5Ghz 8C/16T server running CentOS 7.7 64bit. Older CentOS 7.7 3.10 Linux Kernel may not be properly boosting cpu frequency but I will be doing benchmark tests with 3.10 vs 5.3 Linux Kernels as well so can confirm later if newer 5.3 Linux Kernels have proper cpu boost frequency scaling.
