    Would it be okay to install CentOS 8 first and then convert it to AlmaLinux?

    Because only Rocky Linux is available to install, but why not AlmaLinux weird, i am asking this for my other non Centmin servers.

    Centmin Mod on EL8 is not available yet.
    And if so it, it should be compatible with Rocky Linux 8 as previously, elsewhere indicated by the developer @eva2000.

    The easiest way is to ask your provider to make AlmaLinux available.

    If, for whatever reason, that doesn't work, there is a second option.
    With AlmaLinux deploy you could migrate from CentOS 8 or Rocky Linux 8 to AlmaLinux 8.

    Who's the web host who only has Rocky Linux. Most big VPS players now have both. Though was one of the things I was waiting to see how it plays out as to which would be favoured first for Centmin Mod EL8 development testing - to see which flavour web hosts offered first and the most. From my experience Alma Linux came first for many but all the ones I care about now have both.

    Hetzner dont list AlmaLinux - Only Rocky at present (as far as I can see)

    If thats the case (I'm not a user), you should send in a ticket.
    Hetzner support/tech is the only one who could add distro images.

    This is for VPS. For dedicated servers Hetzner offers Alma Linux directly from the control panel.

    You can easily convert Rocky to Alma, but since Hetzner VPS's has Centos 7.x installer I don't see this as a problem.

    About Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9
    Summer is coming in the coming weeks, nice weather, outdoor eating and drinking and RHEL 9.
