Linode announced on their blog that they will add more than a dozen new datacenters in 2023 https://www.linode.com/blog/linode/akamai-turns-linode-up-past-11/

Good to see multiple European locations being added. After leaving the UK from the European Union and the possible GDPR implications on the long term. The UK as datacenter location had become unusable for me.

Good to see Amsterdam :) But it will depend on prices.

    Hard to beat Hetzner...

Of course, that depends on what you consider important, which is obviously different for everyone. If Linode is going to deliver what they say they are going to deliver, (which they describe in her blog).

Then as Linode, it's going to have a lot of potential.
Which in any case I am happy to pay a premium price for.

Yeah like the direction Linode is heading. Hoping the refresh of the server CPU models comes with it too :) AMD EPYC Milan would be excellent :D

Seems pretty logical to me that existing locations would also be transferred to an Akamai data center. Unless Akamai is already located in the current data center. For example, in Germany and the UK. Otherwise you get duplicate employees/contracts/items/costs etc. While there might be enough space, just a few hundred meters away. As previously discussed here
