The issue seems to be when adding the virtual MAC address in the OVH control panel. Works when I remove that. Has anyone set the vMAC address up, or can I just skip that?

Also, seems like a lot of stuff missing from the eth0:0 which is in the eth0. My eth0 uses NETMASK of 255.255.255.0 and the tut says to use 255.255.255.255? There is also no BROADCAST in eth0, but they want a BROADCAST in eth0:0. Lastly, eth0 has a GATEWAY, but tut says no GATEWAY in eth0:0

Just wondering if anyone ran across this when adding additional IP address to their server on OVH.

Sorry if this is zero help (I'm a complete noob), but on Linode I had to modify "Auto-configure Networking" to "No".

    Then in: /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-eth0
    I added:
Again, I really have no idea if this helps or if OVH config is the same as Linode.

The top of my eth0 file also contains:

That's how I do it for my local machine, just add IPADDR1 to my eth0 file.

Instructions were different for OVH, so I went with what they said to do.

I ended up on getting it working. Not sure if I need the vMAC.

No, you only need to vMAC if you are wanting to use the IP address for your own VPS set up (I need them when adding the IP to a VM on a proxmox node).
