SSL Domain Forward

Does anyone know if will have an SSL issue if I forward one site to another site and the first site isn't SSL but the site use to be all SSL?

I'm changing the names of one of my sites. The old site is currently SSL so most of the users are coming to the site via https://

Do I need to get a cert for the old site too? Or if I don't, will it stop when it hits the first server block below?

Maybe I have to create a vhost site for the old domain w/ a cert and forward from there for this to work?

I'll have to give it a try. Just wondered if someone had run into this situation before.

 

Setup on of the domains I need to re-direct (there are two). Non-SSL links are working fine. SSL links I get ERR_CONNECTION_RESET in the browser. So, it appears that I need to setup certs for each domain.

 

Setup the SSL and works great now. BTW found a great site for SSLs $4.99 a year for a PositiveSSL (must register for 3 years).

Namecheap is still the standard $9.00. ssls.com seems to be a namecheap site because they're using the namecheap ssl - says namecheap in the browser.

I thought $14 for 3 years wasn't bad.

I would've never known how to create the trusted / unified with a PositiveSSL without the forum thread. Assuming that most people are buying the cheapest cert, that info you posted might be helpful on the main site.

 

Must have missed that. Lot of text info to read on that page. Maybe putting the actual code examples, it would clarify things for newbs. Obviously, it's up to you.

 

Of course it might just be me working on 3 hours of sleep in the past 2 days.
