    Is there a repo setting or similar that's preventing the installation of 32 bit binaries to run with the 64bit OS? CentOS 7.x

    E.g - yum install glibc-devel.i686
    No package glibc-devel.i686 available.

    For context, I need to install the 32 bit binaries to run SourceCMD (See here: SteamCMD - Valve Developer Community recommendation is to simply install the 32 binaries on a 64 bit machine via yum)

    So: yum install glibc.i686 libstdc++.i686

    Any help much appreciated

    Thanks

    So the solution is:

    Edit /etc/yum.conf and remove i686 from exclusions and it should work - can also add the exclusion back once upated.

    yes you can do it that way or disable excludes for main yum repo via command line
    Code (Text):
    yum install glibc-devel.i686 --disableexcludes=main
