See /root/centminlogs/ for the failure summary. Fix the cause and re-run this installer.

Indeed, /etc/init.d does not exist. On another box with Alma 10.2 and CMM141.00beta1 that was installed a couple of months ago it does not exist neither and it runs flawlessly with actual codebase.

    The hint

See /root/centminlogs/ for the failure summary.

is a bit overwhelming, given the amount of logs in there. I did not manage to find a failure summary there.

Thanks for the detailed report. You found the cause: this is a 141.00beta01 bug, and it only hits servers without /etc/init.d.

    What happened
    • A recent change made the installer stop when service php-fpm start fails.
    • At that point the installer still starts php-fpm through its old init.d script, and only afterwards switches php-fpm to a systemd service (php-fpm.service).
    • Your server has no /etc/init.d, so the init.d script couldn't be copied, php-fpm.service didn't exist yet, and the start failed. Your older AlmaLinux 10.2 box was installed before that change, so it never hit this.
    Fix

The fix creates and starts php-fpm.service first, then checks that php-fpm is running. It's tested on AlmaLinux 9 with /etc/init.d removed, and will be in 141.00beta01 shortly.

The install on that VPS stopped part way, and the installer won't run again over an existing Nginx and PHP. Once the fix is pushed, the simplest route is to rebuild the VPS with a fresh AlmaLinux 10.2 image and run betainstaller-el10.sh again. A fresh install downloads the latest 141.00beta01 code, so it picks up the fix automatically.

    The failure summary hint

You're right, there is no summary file. The full output is in these two logs:
    • /root/centminlogs/installer_cmm_*.log from the installer
    • /root/centminlogs/centminmod_*_install.log from centmin.sh install

As the fix went into Github tonight I did a fresh install on a fresh Alma 10.2 this morning and this time it worked like a charm. Thanks a lot for the fast response!
